A ridge trail above the south end of Palm Springs with shaded picnic shelters partway up and long views across the valley toward the Santa Rosas. It can be walked as an out-and-back from either the southern trailhead on Murray Canyon Drive or the northern one at Mesquite Avenue, or run point to point in about three hours. Exposed for most of its length; best in the afternoon in winter, at dawn otherwise. South Lykken Trail is activity in South Palm Springs, Palm Springs. Filed under hiking, outdoors.
