Coachella 2027 Guide: Dates, Hotels, Shuttles & Camping

Coachella 2027 takes place April 9–11 and April 16–18. Build the trip around three linked decisions: the correct weekend pass, somewhere to sleep and a reliable way back after the music. Hotel distance alone does not solve the transportation problem.

Area comparisons are planning guidance, not guaranteed journey times or live lodging prices.

Start with the right weekend

The official 2027 travel site confirms Weekend 1: April 9–11 and Weekend 2: April 16–18. Coachella is held in Indio, not downtown Palm Springs.

Match the weekend across every purchase: festival admission, camping or hotel, shuttle and any parking product. A good hotel deal for the wrong weekend is not useful, and your group should agree on dates before anyone commits to a nonrefundable booking.

Choose between weekends using actual availability, total cost and your schedule. Do not assume one weekend guarantees surprise guests, lighter crowds, better weather or lower prices.

Details below were checked October 21, 2026. Some official planning pages still identify themselves as 2026 information. Use the pages explicitly labeled for 2027 for purchases, and revisit the event rules and maps closer to departure.

Choose lodging and transportation together

For an off-site stay, compare the complete journey: room to shuttle stop or vehicle, trip to the venue, entrance walk, and the reverse after the final set. Straight-line distance from a hotel to the grounds leaves out much of that work.

Indio and La Quinta make sense to investigate when limiting the geographic distance is your priority. Still check the permitted arrival route and your exact pickup point. A nearby rental does not automatically have convenient pedestrian access to the festival.

Indian Wells, Palm Desert and Rancho Mirage offer alternatives when a resort or a specific shuttle stop suits the group. Compare the Palm Desert hotel guide and Rancho Mirage hotel guide for room and property differences.

Palm Springs is worth considering if you want to build extra time around its restaurants and neighborhoods. Account for the return trip before prioritizing the pool photos. Start with the downtown hotel comparison, then map the shuttle connection separately.

Treat a more distant stay, such as Joshua Tree, as a deliberate transport decision. A lower accommodation quote can become less attractive once you account for repeated journeys and late-night driving.

Use the 2027 shuttle list, not an old map

The official shuttle page currently lists stops including Palm Springs Convention Center, Omni Rancho Las Palmas, JW Marriott Desert Springs, Grand Hyatt Indian Wells and La Quinta Resort & Club. It specifically marks Indian Wells Tennis Gardens and The Shops at Palm Desert as official Park & Ride locations.

A hotel appearing as a stop does not establish that non-guests can park there. Check the applicable pickup and parking arrangements before booking around that location.

Choose accommodation with a practical connection to the stop you intend to use. A final walk or rideshare back to the room still matters after the shuttle ride. Save the pickup location and accommodation address on each traveler’s phone.

The 2027 hospitality FAQ currently lists outbound service from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., with return service ending 60 minutes after the music ends. Recheck the pre-event instructions; a shuttle removes the need to drive but does not promise no lines or delays.

What festival passes and camping actually include

The official 2027 pass page describes General Admission as entry for all three days. Visiting GA camping areas with a festival pass is different from purchasing a place to camp.

Standard car camping is listed at $160 total plus the applicable transient occupancy tax. Festival admission is sold separately. The shuttle pass is listed at $150 total. These are posted reference prices, subject to change and availability, not a quote for your complete trip.

Check the exact camping product before buying. Vehicle access, supplied equipment and sleeping arrangements differ among options. Do not assume a tent, bedding, power or an additional vehicle space comes with standard camping.

For a group, settle who brings the vehicle, equipment and shared supplies before checkout. Review the current camping rules for check-in, vehicle movement and eligibility. Camping can simplify daily transport, but it still requires its own arrival and packing plan.

Hotel package or separate bookings?

Compare packages and independent bookings for the same number of people, nights and pass types. The official package FAQ says packages include festival shuttle passes, but pickup at your specific hotel is not guaranteed. Check the listed inclusions rather than assuming every part of the trip is covered.

The FAQ also describes packages as nonrefundable, sets occupancy by the package purchased and notes that hotel check-in age requirements vary. Review those terms before committing a group’s money.

If booking separately, write down every component you still need. Confirm bed sizes and sleeping arrangements, not just the room’s maximum occupancy. Establish how costs will be split and what happens if someone drops out.

Arriving the day before the first festival day can make check-in and preparation less rushed. Price that extra night explicitly. Do not assume an early flight guarantees that the room will be ready before you want to leave for the grounds.

Build a complete budget

Use actual quotes in each category rather than multiplying the festival ticket price by an arbitrary amount:

  • Festival admission for each person.
  • Accommodation for every night, including applicable taxes and fees.
  • Shuttle, parking or other local transport.
  • Flights, airport transfers or the drive to the valley.
  • Food, drinks and any camping equipment.
  • A reserve for incidental expenses and changed plans.

Keep per-person and shared costs separate. A camping price per site, room price per night and pass price per person cannot be compared directly without accounting for the group size.

Avoid paying for a luxury resort solely for amenities you will have little time to use. If the group wants a pool vacation too, consider adding a recovery day instead of trying to squeeze sightseeing into each festival morning.

Prepare for arrival and the return trip

Check the forecast close to departure and pack for changing conditions rather than relying on a fixed temperature promise. Review the current permitted-items list before choosing bags, bottles, sunscreen containers and chargers.

Plan comfortable footwear, a layer for later, phone power and a meeting point if the group separates. Save booking confirmations and transport instructions offline. Check the festival’s current accessibility information early if you need specific accommodations.

For drivers, use the official event route and parking instructions when released. Arrange a rested, sober driver and allow flexibility after the final set. For an early departure flight, plan backward from airport arrival and the trip from your accommodation; avoid assuming a late festival finish and an early airport run will fit comfortably together.

FAQ

What are the dates for Coachella 2027?
Weekend 1 is April 9–11, and Weekend 2 is April 16–18. Match all passes, accommodation and transport to the same weekend.
Is camping included with a Coachella festival pass?
Standard camping is purchased separately from festival admission. Access to visit camping areas does not mean a campsite is included.
Does an official hotel package guarantee shuttle pickup at the hotel?
No. The official hospitality FAQ says pickup may be at another stop. Confirm the connection from your specific hotel.
Should I book a hotel in Palm Springs or nearer Indio?
Compare the complete transport plan and total stay cost. Palm Springs can suit a longer vacation; a nearer base may suit a festival-focused trip. Neither choice guarantees a particular journey time.
Can I use last year’s parking map?
Use the current event’s instructions when released. Older maps can be useful context but should not determine your final arrival route or pickup plan.
