Tahquitz Canyon

West Palm Springs

A two-mile loop on Agua Caliente land at the western edge of Palm Springs, climbing past ancient rock art and irrigation works to a sixty-foot seasonal waterfall that runs hardest in spring. The trail is rocky with steps and a modest climb. Entry is through a visitor centre with a tribal day-use fee, rangers lead free interpretive hikes, and the canyon closes seasonally and in the hottest months. Tahquitz Canyon is activity in West Palm Springs, Palm Springs. Filed under hiking, outdoors. Notable for waterfall, loop trail, ranger led. Hours: Daily 7:30am-5pm. Best for a short hike with a payoff. Summer changes everything here: many independent bars, spas and shops cut hours or close for a few weeks between July and September, while the same places are busiest from January through April and during festival weekends.
