Palm Springs in February 2027: Modernism Week, Weather & Tennis

The weather everyone comes for

February is the best all-round month in the desert: typical highs in the mid-70s, dry sunny days, nights in the upper 40s. Check pool heating and hours, use the forecast for hiking, and treat wildflowers as conditions-dependent. Late February can bring the valley's spring wind, which matters mainly for open patios and tennis.

Events with confirmed dates

• Modernism Week — February 11–21, 2027. The organizer confirms the festival dates, an October 25, 2026 program preview and a November 1, 2026 ticket release. • BNP Paribas Open — begins February 28, 2027, Indian Wells. The tennis tournament runs into mid-March; qualifying and early rounds are the cheapest, quietest days to attend. See the March guide for the bulk of it.

The Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival in Indio traditionally lands in February and is a genuinely local, genuinely strange delight — date shakes, camel races, Arabian Nights staging. We have not yet confirmed 2027 dates with the fair; check datefest.org before planning around it.

Weekly fixtures run throughout: VillageFest on Thursdays, farmers markets on weekends, free Thursday evenings at the art museum, and the College of the Desert Street Fair. Check the events calendar for your dates.
