Why stay here
The most distinctive hotel in Palm Springs: 13 acres of eccentric, hedge-walled grounds, Jonathan Adler maximalism, Norma's breakfast and a legendary spa.
The Parker is the valley's most theatrical hotel: 13 walled acres of hedge-lined lawns, orange groves and hidden lounge chairs behind an unmarked entrance on East Palm Canyon. Jonathan Adler's design is deliberately maximalist — banana-leaf prints, needlepoint pillows, a lobby of clashing patterns that somehow works — and it is the opposite of the minimalist mid-century look most Palm Springs hotels chase. Rooms are spread across low-slung buildings and private villas, all with patios; the Gene Autry Residence and the Turret suite are the splurges. The grounds are the real draw: two pools, a croquet lawn, pétanque, fire pits, hammocks strung between citrus trees, and enough hidden corners that guests genuinely get lost. Norma's serves the famous all-day breakfast, Mister Parker's is a dark, clubby dinner room, and the Palm Springs Yacht Club spa (no yachts, no water — it is a joke) is one of the best in the desert. It is adults-leaning in feel but does allow children, and it sits about three miles southeast of downtown, so plan on driving or a short rideshare to the Village.

FAQ
- Is the Parker Palm Springs worth it?
- If you value the grounds and design over location, yes. The 13-acre property, two pools, croquet lawn, spa and two strong restaurants make it a hotel you can stay inside for three days. If you want to walk to downtown restaurants, a Village hotel is a better fit.
- Can non-guests eat at Norma's or visit the Parker?
- Norma's takes reservations from non-guests, and Mister Parker's serves dinner to the public. The pools and lawns are for guests only; a spa appointment at the Palm Springs Yacht Club is the usual way in without a room.
- How far is the Parker from downtown Palm Springs?
- About three miles southeast on East Palm Canyon Drive — roughly a 10-minute drive or a short rideshare. It is not a walkable distance to the Village in summer heat.
- Is the Parker Palm Springs adults only?
- No. It allows children, but the atmosphere is adult and design-focused rather than family-oriented, and there is no kids club or shallow play pool.
- Does the Parker have a spa?
- Yes — the Palm Springs Yacht Club, one of the desert's best-regarded spas, with treatment rooms, steam and sauna, and a nautical joke of a theme. Book treatments in advance on winter weekends.
- How much does the Parker Palm Springs cost per night?
- Typically $400-800 in peak season (February through April), with villas higher, and often $200-350 in the summer months. Valet parking and a resort fee are added.
- Does the Parker Palm Springs have private pools?
- The villas and some suites have private outdoor space, and the Gene Autry Residence has its own pool. Standard rooms use the two main pools, which are large and rarely feel crowded outside spring weekends.
