What counts as a two-night deal?

Compare identical check-in and check-out dates across the hotel's own website and booking partners. A low 'from' rate may refer to a weekday, a different room category, restricted occupancy or a nonrefundable deal.

Your comparison should include the nightly price multiplied by two, occupancy taxes, any resort or destination fee, mandatory parking, expected pet charges, and cancellation terms. A $20 cheaper nightly rate can disappear when a $40-per-night mandatory resort fee is added.

Five hotels worth comparing for a short getaway

Ace Hotel & Swim Club: compare when the hotel pool and social scene are central to the trip. Check whether parties, pool events or minimum-stay requirements affect your weekend.

Renaissance Palm Springs Hotel: compare when a conventional full-service hotel and downtown proximity matter more than a tiny boutique experience.

Casa Cody: compare standard rooms with suites and cottages carefully; the room type has a big impact on both price and kitchen access.

The Colony Palms Hotel: a more intimate, higher-end option; check the cancellation and fee differences against the value of a short, hotel-focused vacation.

Kimpton Rowan Palm Springs: a good choice to compare for downtown access. Parking and any mandatory property charges belong in your final two-night calculation.

How to find better dates

  • Compare Friday–Sunday with Sunday–Tuesday if your schedule permits.
  • Check school holidays, Modernism Week, tennis tournament weeks and festival weekends before assuming that a particular month is inexpensive.
  • Look at both flexible and nonrefundable rates, but do not value an inflexible room as equivalent to a free-cancellation one.
  • If considering summer for lower rates, plan around high daytime heat and confirm pool access.

Book the room, not just the hotel name

Read bed setup, room size, pool proximity, pet policy and accessibility notes. A standard room with a street-facing window does not deliver the same trip as a private-patio suite. Use the hotel's own room descriptions to resolve any ambiguity before purchase.

Use the weekend as a starting point

For restaurants and a realistic 48-hour plan, see Palm Springs weekend itinerary. For quieter couple-specific recommendations, see romantic hotels. This page focuses on comparing lodging prices rather than duplicating the itinerary.
