Choose by the kind of winter swim you want
A hotel having a pool does not tell you whether it is heated. For this shortlist, we looked for an explicit heating statement on the property's own website. These three hotels are in Palm Springs itself; this is not a list of every resort across the valley.
Heating also does not guarantee a particular water temperature on every day. Wind, air temperature and maintenance affect the experience. Ask the property which pool will operate during your stay, rather than relying on a general amenities icon.
Avalon: family and adults-only pool areas
Avalon Hotel & Bungalows confirms that all three of its pools are heated year-round. One serves families and two are designated adults-only. That makes it our starting point for a mixed group that wants different pool environments without changing hotels.
The hotel lists typical pool hours of 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., subject to changes. Ask which area best fits your party and whether cabanas require a separate reservation. An adults-only pool does not make the entire hotel adults-only.
Korakia: heated saltwater pools
Korakia Pensione documents two heated saltwater pools, with guest access listed around the clock. It is the option to investigate if a late swim is part of your ideal evening.
Check current access rules and any temporary closures before booking. Around-the-clock access is not permission for late-night noise: consider neighboring rooms and the property's atmosphere. For a broader couples shortlist, see our romantic hotel guide.
Desert Riviera: pool time with practical room amenities
Desert Riviera Hotel lists a heated pool and Jacuzzi available 24 hours, along with in-room kitchenettes, a guest kitchen and barbecue facilities. That combination is worth considering for a longer stay when you want to spend time at the property and prepare some food yourself.
Confirm the equipment in the room you choose. A shared kitchen is useful, but it is not the same as having cooking facilities inside your room. Our hotel kitchen guide explains that distinction.
Five questions to ask before paying
- Which pools are heated during my dates?
- Is any maintenance or closure scheduled?
- Is a target temperature available, and is it a target rather than a guarantee?
- What age restrictions and daily hours apply to each pool?
- Are pool access, towels and loungers included, and what costs extra?
Schedule the swim around your own comfort with cool outdoor air, especially if traveling with children. Pack something warm for the walk back to the room. For seasonal trip planning, see Palm Springs in December and January.
Sources and scope
This shortlist is based on published heating policies, not temperature measurements or firsthand winter testing. Official sources checked October 9, 2026: Avalon pools, Korakia amenities and Desert Riviera amenities. Compare current availability and total costs through each hotel's listing below.
FAQ
- Are all Palm Springs hotel pools heated?
- Do not assume so. This guide includes only hotels whose official pages explicitly describe heated pools.
- Does heated mean a guaranteed temperature?
- No. Ask the hotel for its current target temperature and any maintenance plans for your dates.
- Is Avalon an adults-only hotel?
- Its pool page describes one family-friendly pool and two adults-only pools. The adults-only designation applies to those pool areas.
