Dates and the venue you actually need

The organizer's current schedule confirms Friday, November 20 through Sunday, November 22, 2026. Use the location attached to your chosen activity, not a single festival map pin for the entire weekend.

The main evening grounds are Cathedral City Festival Lawn & Amphitheater, 68700 Avenida Lalo Guerrero. The schedule also uses Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa Rancho Mirage, 32250 Bob Hope Drive, and The Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa, 71333 Dinah Shore Drive, for launch-related activities.

Check the schedule again before leaving. The organizer states that times and acts can change, and balloon activities depend on weather.

Friday: choose your evening before buying anything

The published Friday plan includes a sunrise launch at Agua Caliente in Rancho Mirage and an evening festival in Cathedral City. The Friday Westin balloon-glow concert is a separate event with a separate ticket; it is not included with festival admission.

That separation matters if you are meeting friends. Agree on the exact venue and session before arranging dinner, transport or a hotel. Going to a resort concert and visiting the Cathedral City festival grounds are different evening plans.

Saturday tickets: what is included?

Use the official ticket page for the current price and availability. Festival-only admission and amphitheater admission cover different experiences. A festival-only ticket does not include the Robin Thicke concert.

Sunday launches: stay near the session you want

The Sunday launch is scheduled at The Westin Rancho Mirage. If a morning launch is the priority, compare a Rancho Mirage base and check how you will reach the launch site before dawn.

A hotel room does not include a balloon ride, event ticket, breakfast event or reserved viewing area unless the specific offer says so. Ask about the applicable guest access and parking arrangements rather than assuming they follow from the hotel's role as a venue.

Where to stay for the balloon festival

For Cathedral City evenings, compare the Cathedral City area and DoubleTree Golf Resort Palm Springs. Do not assume a hotel in the same city is a walk from the grounds; check the address and your transport plan.

For a longer trip combining the festival with restaurants and museums in Palm Springs, a Downtown Palm Springs hotel can be a useful base, with a separate ride to the festival. Choose this for the broader stay rather than for minimum travel to a launch.

A manageable two-night plan

Friday: arrive, check in and attend one chosen evening event. Confirm its venue before setting off.

Saturday: decide between a morning launch outing and a slower hotel morning, then leave time before your selected Saturday festival admission. Avoid stacking activities at different sites without allowing for travel.

Sunday: attend the Westin launch if conditions and access permit, or keep the morning flexible before checkout. Verify the hotel's checkout and parking terms if you will return after an early outing.

What to confirm before booking

Check the event ticket tier, the separate terms for any ride, and the complete hotel total including parking and applicable resort charges. Match cancellation deadlines across the reservations so one non-refundable purchase does not commit you to an unfinished plan.
