Keys View

A 5,185-foot overlook where the whole Coachella Valley, San Andreas Fault and Salton Sea line up below you.

Keys View is in Joshua Tree National Park, Joshua Tree. It suits sunset over the valley.

Admission: Included with park entry. Hours: Dawn to dusk.

This is an outdoor activity. From May through September, go at or before sunrise, carry more water than you think you need, and treat midday heat as a hard stop. It works with kids in tow.
