Indian Wells
The village side of Indian Wells is compact — a handful of blocks along Highway 111 that hold the Tennis Garden, the city's civic center and the gateway to Palm Desert shopping.
Unlike Palm Springs or Old Town La Quinta, Indian Wells does not have a walkable downtown, and that is deliberate. What it has instead is the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, the second-largest tennis stadium complex in the world, which hosts the BNP Paribas Open every March and stays open for public court play and events the rest of the year. Just east, El Paseo in Palm Desert delivers the galleries and restaurants Indian Wells intentionally does not build. Just west, Highway 111 runs straight into Rancho Mirage. Staying here means quiet nights and short drives: fifteen minutes to Palm Desert dining, twenty-five to downtown Palm Springs, ten to Old Town La Quinta.
Hotels inside the neighborhood, closest first.
