Coachella Valley Casinos: All 9, Ranked by What You're Looking For

Every valley casino is on tribal land, which is why they can exist at all in California — and why each has its own personality. Driving times below are from downtown Palm Springs.

The big three: Agua Caliente properties

**Agua Caliente Casino Palm Springs** (downtown, 0 min) — the only casino actually in Palm Springs, right on Indian Canyon Drive. Mid-size, walkable from downtown hotels, and the natural pick if you are staying in town without a car. A smoke-free annex opened in recent years.

**Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa Rancho Mirage** (20 min) — the flagship. The largest of the three, with the valley's best casino restaurants, the Agave Caliente Terraza outdoor pool, and **The Show**, a roughly 2,000-seat theater that books national touring acts — check the calendar before any trip.

The resort-scale option

**Morongo Casino Resort & Spa, Cabazon** (25 min west) — the closest thing to a Vegas property in the desert: a 27-story tower, lazy-river pool, full spa, and a huge gaming floor. Pair it with the Desert Hills Premium Outlets next door.

The east valley locals' rooms

**Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, Indio** (30 min) — a full resort with a golf course, bowling alley, and a concert pavilion that books legacy rock and country acts. The natural casino for Coachella and Stagecoach weekends.

**Spotlight 29 Casino, Coachella** (35 min) — the valley's best concert calendar after The Show, with a roughly 2,200-seat showroom. Cheap tables and a strong local following.

**Augustine Casino, Coachella** (35 min) — small, friendly, and known for its cafe's famously inexpensive prime rib. A pure locals' room.

**Red Earth Casino, Thermal** (40 min) — the smallest in the valley, a slots-and-travel-stop on Highway 86 near the Salton Sea turnoff.

**Tortoise Rock Casino, Twentynine Palms** (75 min) — technically outside the valley, but the stop for anyone heading to Joshua Tree National Park.
