Pappy & Harriet's Pioneertown Palace

Pioneertown

A former Western film-set cantina turned biker bar turned one of California's most respected small music venues, sitting at the end of Pioneertown's dirt Mane Street. The room holds a few hundred people and the booking is absurd for its size - major touring acts play here between festival dates. Mesquite barbecue comes out of the kitchen, the outdoor courtyard fills on show nights, and both dinner reservations and show tickets sell out well ahead. Pappy & Harriet's Pioneertown Palace is bar in Pioneertown. Filed under live-music, nightlife, barbecue. Notable for live music, late night, outdoor patio. Hours: Thu-Mon, shows most nights. Prices are moderate. Best for a legendary desert night out. Summer changes everything here: many independent bars, spas and shops cut hours or close for a few weeks between July and September, while the same places are busiest from January through April and during festival weekends.
