Villa Royale — Villa Rosa: Villa Royale’s official room inventory describes Villa Rosa, across from the main hotel, as a separate hideaway with its own private pool and entrance. Standard Villa Royale rooms use the hotel’s three shared pools, so confirm that the booking names Villa Rosa rather than relying on a generic “villa” label.

L’Horizon — The Residence: The Residence has a private pool and hot tub, but it is a special 5,000-square-foot accommodation marketed for large stays, events and buyouts. L’Horizon’s standard bungalows have private patios and use the shared zero-edge pool.

Private plunge pools

We could not verify a current standard hotel room in Palm Springs with a genuinely private plunge pool from the hotels’ own room listings. Some older and third-party pages use “plunge pool” loosely for soaking tubs, pool-facing patios or shared courtyard pools. Until a hotel’s current booking page names the exact room category and private pool, we do not count it here.

Private patios with shared pool access

A private patio can still be a worthwhile upgrade, but the water is communal. Standard rooms at Villa Royale, Azure Sky, Korakia Pensione, La Serena Villas, L’Horizon, Sparrows Lodge and several other small hotels pair private outdoor space with a shared pool. La Serena’s outdoor clawfoot tubs are private soaking tubs, not swimming pools.

Shared adults-only pools

Azure Sky has one shared heated saltwater pool and a hot tub. Korakia has two shared saltwater pools. Both are strong quiet-pool choices, but neither belongs in a comparison of standard rooms with private pools. Villa Royale and L’Horizon also operate shared-pool areas for their standard room inventory.

Read the room name, not the search snippet

Terms such as villa, pool bungalow, poolside and private patio do not mean the pool itself is private. Before paying a premium, check the exact room name and ask whether any other guest can use the water. If the answer is yes, it belongs in the shared-pool category.

Heating, privacy and booking checks

Ask whether the private pool is heated, whether heating costs extra and whether the patio is fully enclosed. Private-pool inventory is exceptionally small, so verify the exact room category on the hotel’s own booking page before paying or relying on a cancellation policy.
